Trouble

By on March 2, 2025 in Uncategorized

Well, disaster has struck. My publisher has abruptly closed down. All of my books have been pulled from seller’s sites and are not available. I have no idea where I will go from here. The mere thought of attempting to re-publish 30 books, not to mention find new covers is beyond my comprehension and ability at this moment. I am off to have a good cry and then try to pick myself up from the rubble. : (

I’m so sorry this has happened to you! I love your work, and await every new release eagerly. I hope that things will look better after you’ve had a few days to get over the shock. Whether you go with self-publishing, or see if another publisher would like to re-release your backlist along with printing new titles, I wish you ease of mind, and smooth sailing. I know other authors who’ve had publishers close down have had luck with Nine Star Press and JMS Press, or self-publishing through Smashwords or Kobo. If you are able to self-publish your backlist, and put them on Kobo Plus, that might get you more exposure (which you thoroughly deserve)!
Please take all the time you need to make sure you are emotionally and mentally recovered from this; your well-being is the most important thing right now.

Thank you so much Jennifer! After much discussion with other authors and friends, I think I am going to take the self publishing route. Scary, scary stuff but I have some people walking me through it, so maybe…
Your comment meant a lot to me.

Oh God, I am so sorry. I had to deal with all my Dreamspinner books after their stunt, and I feel for you. I’m just so sorry.

Thank you! I am sorry you had to go through that with Dreamspinner. It just seems very uncertain out there now, so I am going to give Indie publishing a try, even though my knees are shaking!!
