September News

on September 24, 2010 in News from J.C. Comments Off on September News

I cannot believe the summer is gone. What the heck! It seems like it hardly started and now it is fall… Well back to the desk then. I get a lot more writing done in the cold months for obvious reasons. Although I have been pretty good; “Draconian Measures” is way ahead of schedule! I had not expected it to be done until the end of the year, and now I am hoping for the end of October. I am going to add a page to my site (Upcoming) with a list of the books I am working on and approximately how far along they are, as well as a brief description of their topic. I jump around from book to book as the mood takes me and I can make great strides on one and have to leave another completely for a while. “Taken” is still at Samhain with changes being viewed. “The Emperor’s Wolf” is going to be out on Oct.19 from Loose ID. I will post a reminder of the release date a little closer to the time and when I have the cover available. I cannot wait to see what Anne Cain will create for me this time! She is a wonderful artist.

Book Release: Gaven: The Bonding

on August 17, 2010 in News from J.C. Comments Off on Book Release: Gaven: The Bonding

Just to let people know that the second book in the Gaven series (Gaven: The Bonding) was released today at Loose ID. I hope it will be a worthy successor to the first book, Gaven. I am finding that second books create a lot of pressure, especially when the first one was supported by so many people, whose encouragement brought about the sequel. Some of the questions that were asked were ones I had not even thought of, so I tried to include answers in the new book. Hope it worked. I am currently working on the pre-quel to the series; a story of Vlar’s father, Sadan, and his love for a reluctant and spirited draconian warrior. The book will be titled “Draconian Measures” and I hope it will be finished by the end of this year. Thank you so much for the support of my readers. It truly keeps me writing. Also, I have a stand alone book coming out on October 19 from Loose ID, entitled “The Emperor’s Wolf,” a story of a demon possessed Emperor and the enemy warrior who comes to love him and seeks to save him from what lies within.

For those of you who are interested, the cover art for Gaven: The Bonding is now up on Loose Id, under their “Coming Soon” section. I am blown away by the beauty of the artwork. It is exactly how I pictured Vlar to look. As always, Anne Cain outdoes herself; she is so talented! Take Care J.C.

Upcoming

on July 9, 2010 in News from J.C. Comments Off on Upcoming

At last I have dates for my upcoming books! “Gaven: The Bonding” is scheduled for Aug.17 and “The Emperor’s Wolf” for Oct.19. “Taken” is at Samhain Publishing, but that could change. “Draconian Measures” is the book currently being worked on and is approximately one third done. Many, many thanks to my readers who keep me inspired and focussed! Take Care J.C.

June News

on June 17, 2010 in News from J.C. Comments Off on June News

Things are starting to look up! “The Emperor’s Wolf” is now under contract to Loose ID, so both it and “Gaven: The Bonding” are in the final stages. Still no date though; will let you know as soon as possible. I finished the stand alone book “Taken”, a contemporary story about Landon, a young mercenary who, to save his brother, is sent on a mission to kidnap the brother of a mob boss. If only it had stayed that uncomplicated… This book drove me up the wall. I kept thinking it was done and then the story went on and changed and…sometimes these characters are a pain, through and through. Oh well, Landon finally has his story… I just sent the manuscript to Samhain publishing, so we will see where it goes from there. Now I can take a few days off for a job well done! Yay! Maybe I can actually get out and see the sun… Take Care J.C

Frustration

on May 12, 2010 in News from J.C. Comments Off on Frustration

I have been waiting for real news before I posted here, but as things seem determined to be vague, I will at least let my readers know what is currently happening. Thanks to Ana and Jalane for their e-mails which made me realize how long it was since I last gave out information. I have finished two books that have been in at Loose ID since the beginning of the year; Gaven: The Bonding and The Emperor’s Wolf. I had fully expected that they would both be published by now, but I have received little information as to dates. Gaven: The Bonding is now a signed contract, but I may move The Emperor’s Wolf to another publisher if things continue as they have. Taken, another stand alone book, is just being finished and I am going to send it elsewhere to try to speed things up. I certainly never expected six months to go by without a title being available. Thank you so much for your interest and I will let you know when things start moving. Take Care J.C.

Wow!

on March 18, 2010 in News from J.C. Comments Off on Wow!

Wow. That is really all I can say. I was a little stunned to find out “Gaven” had been nominated for an award on Love Romance Cafe’s best of 2009 list, under erotica. I try not to get to hyped up over what is said on the internet about my books, because as I have learned from other authors, it can take you from the heights to the depths in moments. Some will love your book and some will hate it. Some will not understand what you were trying to portray, others will. So I try not to read reviews or get too down hearted about criticism. In a million years I would never have thought the first erotica book I wrote would get this far! I did not win, but that means nothing to me. The very fact that people liked it enough to nominate it is amazing and I just wanted to thank those who did so. I never have a particular faith in my writing skills and this made my day, giving me inspiration to continue to write. Thank you so very much! Take Care J.C.
