Fourth Anrodnes Book Delay

By on January 23, 2020 in News from J.C.

So I thought I would give an update on the fourth Anrodnes book. This series has turned truly epic in a way I never anticipated. I am struggling to finish the book because I can’t fit all the loose ends in. I have flow charts and maps and pages of character info. I have no idea how people like George R. Martin ever manage to keep things sorted. This started out as a simple concept and has gained a life of it’s own.
So before I throw it out the window, as well as my laptop, I have sent it in to my editor for fresh eyes to go over it.
I am so damned close but have lost all perspective!!! : P
So currently I am taking this break to work on a shorter story. Not sure which one yet, but hoping to step away from intense stress and back into the joy of writing.
I will keep everyone posted of a timeline once I know more myself.
Thank you so much for all the support and patience you have sent my way! Each message is deeply appreciated. : )

No throwing electronics out the window, they don’t bounce well. Remember – Patience and Humor. Us fans have it as well . Relax, dump the stress, it will all work out. And we’ll still be here!

Don’t I know it, Kelly! I went to an author’s convention a couple of years ago. Had a brand new laptop for the occasion. The zipper in my new laptop backpack broke, and there went my laptop, onto a tile floor. Believe it or not, it worked for the convention! Still have it, with it’s dented corner. I figure that it’s pre-disastered now. Thanks for the support! I have a habit of driving myself into the ground for reasons that make sense to no one else. Occasionally my family takes me in hand and pulls me back from whatever edge I am treading and I really needed it this time. I think that we are far more of a danger to ourselves, than anyone else could ever be!! : P

sometimes Taking a step back and a break is all it takes for things to get back on track. I know with some of my projects I have had to do so in the past as well as the present. I can tell you my laundry of a to do list is chuck full of UFO’s (Unfinished Objects). I am currently going back through all of them and unboxing many of them looking over what I was doing, the designs and patterns for them and deciding on if they are a complete it this year I have ideas for this one pile, a re box and date for the next reevaluation pile or a scrap it all together and forget i ever had this bad idea pile. I have taken to doing this twice a year inbetween projects and just before i take on new orders and new ideas (the later of which i fail at more times then not cause sometimes you can not stop the ideas from spawning from were they may!). Keep strong though and when over whelmed a nice cup of tea and a break is always a great way of de stressing.

I took your advice, Devonnie! A good cup of tea calmed me down – along with a bit of carrot cake. 😉
I just cleaned out my sewing room and like you, went through the piles of projects I never finished. I got rid of a lot of it. I find that them being there is somewhat depressing, as though I am failing at completing tasks. Ridiculous I know! Anyway, it is clean and I actually enjoy going in there now!

    Hello JC,

I have completely fallen in love with Anrodnes. I don’t want to drive you crazy, but, any idea when book 4 is available? You
opened up this beautiful world to us and we are waiting with bated breath to see it through to the end. I am grateful for the experience. I first became familiar with your work when I read The Ice Prince. I became a fan then and this series is fantastic.
Keep the faith and don’t throw your laptop out of the window.

    Thank you,
    Anthony

Hello, Anthony! Thanks so much for your comment, it came at a very good time when I was battling myself, trying to force myself into writing. I have a wonderful fan base that keeps me going. If not for all of you, I would have quit a long time ago. Each time I slide down, there is someone reaching out and helping me climb back up! Best People Ever!
As to the fourth book, Anthony, it is with my editor currently. She had a very, very busy schedule, so she is in the process of looking it over. With a bit of luck, I am hoping to have it out this spring. I am beginning to wonder if the fourth book will be the end though. I just couldn’t fit all the threads in. Arrgh! This was supposed to be a two book series at most, and it has run away with me! I just hope I can do it justice and not disappoint my readers.
At the moment though, while I am waiting, I am actually having fun, working on various books as the mood takes me. I think this will enable me to go back with fresh eyes and revisit Anrodnes with a better attitude.
You’ll be happy to know that the laptop has not yet met it’s doom…

J C, do let Adrodnes and citizens takes you where they will. Truly, don’t you think that’s what we would love? -hell yeah.

The more the merrier -but not at the expense of yours and the laptop’s health of course so do what is best but know that it is way better to have another book or two or three over time, than have a hasty mish mash of endings squished in together.

    Adrodnes deserves better.

Meantime, I’ll check out the new shorts and happy everything to you.
